Being the first underground hip hop artist to rise from the streets of Hollister, CA, TANKSHIT’s newest member J.R. Homer had began trying to make his way into the music scene not too long after graduating high school back in 2017. Homer would first get introudced to TANKSHOP 2 weeks after returning back from Georgia to not only visit family, but also to record his first mixtape dedicated to his late father whom passed away March 24th, 2022. His debut album “J.R. Homer.”
Bringing you hardcore, raw breaking storytelling like never before. J.R. Homer, named after his father has various styles of doing music but his main purpose of pursuing his passion is to uphold his fathers legacy left for him, and encourage others to tell their own story.
5 months into his debut album’s release, Homer has gone on to perform a variety of venues in the Hollister and San Jose region, printed and sold over 300 copies of said album, and is now a full time hip hop artist in the Bay Area representing for the valley in the TANKSHIT team.
During his time at the TANKSHOP, Homer made himself a regular member of the crew and began working with other creatives in the San Jose area. This led to him and open mic artist Numb, coming together and releasing their first collab project “A Brother from Another Mother” released June 22nd 2023.
Breaking through his first year in hip hop, J.R. is on his way to creating more music, performing more shows, and bringing hip hop back to its roots.
